ZACH SORGEN

BIO

Zach Sorgen (born June 2nd, 1990) is an American singer, songwriter, and record producer. Originally from the Bay Area, he went on to receive a B.A. in Music from Vassar College in New York. Shortly after graduating, he moved to Los Angeles to begin working with other artists.

Zach’s first successes came from working with DJs including DVBBS, Tritonal, Sultan + Shepard, Justin Mylo, and Slander. In 2015 he won the Elfenworks Social Justice Songwriting award for “Finders Keepers,” and also wrote “We Turn Up” featuring French Montana. Then in 2016 he scored his first Gold record “Come First” by Terror Jr. Two years later, Zach won “Best Electronica/Dance Single” at the Independent Music Awards for his song “Starry Night” with Anish Sood. In 2019 he wrote “4U” and “Temporary Heart” by PrettyMuch as well as “Girl Next Door” by 4th and Orange which went #1 in Hawaii. That same year he also helped pen “In the LBC” featuring Warren G and won the pilot episode of NBC’s Songland, working with Charlie Puth and Ryan Tedder on his original song “Bad Habit.” In 2021 Zach penned “Danger” by Common Kings and also sang background vocals on “Drink You Away” by Diane Warren and Ty Dolla $ign. Then in 2022 he continued his success with his first KPOP cut “Peaches” by KAI, which went #1 in 60 countries. In 2023 he wrote TNT’s hit single which held the number one spot in China for 3 weeks in a row. He also wrote “Fire” and “Jacuzzi” by James Reid and “Better Type” by Coco Quinn. So far in 2024 releases incldue “Good & Bad” by Crash Adams as well as “Die Trying” by aespa and TOKiMONSTA which will be featured in the Netflix movie Rebel Moon II.

Zach has excelled in the synch space with song placements on Netflix, MTV, HBO, ABC, BET, Disney, Pepsi, Hallmark, the CW, and more. He is the frontman of Dance trio Wake the Wild. Though he has not prioritized his solo project, his single “Sugarsweet” has been used in over 180,000 Tik Tok videos. While still fully independent, there is no denying the musicality of Zach’s production, the catchiness of his melodies, or the honesty behind his lyrics. Zach is a force to be reckoned with and will continue to make his mark in all avenues of the music industry.
